England will only have one game to practise with Adidas’ World Cup ball

Due to a commercial agreement with Nike England will only play one game with the World Cup ball before the tournament starts.

The Adidas Telstar will be used in Russia.

England's kit and ball deal with Nike prevents the team from playing with the ball.

Special dispensation has been afforded for the friendly against Costa Rica at Leeds United's Elland Road.

The Adidas ball as been described as “strange” by Manchester United's David de Gea.
